JESUS IN YOUR BOAT-26/02/2014
Yesterday’s message was titled “BE FULL OF PRAISE” and it was indeed a day of unlimited praise in this forum. I pray that His praise will continually dwell our midst in Jesus Name, amen. Today’s message is titled “JESUS IN YOUR BOAT” as given by Pastor E. A. Adeboye in Open Heavens Devotional (Adeboye, 2014). In today’s message, we have been asked to memorise Psalm 50:15: "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me". and read Mark 4:35-41. The Bible in one year reading for today has been taken from Jeremiah 10 to 12 and Psalm 46
Quoted below is the message for today. God bless you for your contribution
"No doubt, life in a sense is like the sea. A characteristic of the sea is that storms of varying degrees arise, putting the lives of those sailing on it in jeopardy of being drowned. In Jesus’ Name, the storms of life will not be able to drown you, your family and your business. While literal storms are natural phenomena, the storms of life are often generated and directed to an individual by enemies. Whether it is by enemies in the flesh or in the spirit realm, every situation that would constitute a storm in your life shall be disappointed in Jesus’ Name.
Jesus was in the boat with His disciples on a mission across the Sea of Galilee. His Father's business that should bring deliverance to the mad man in Gadara, who the devil had been afflicting with chronic insanity, beaconed. The devil had an idea of this and decided to thwart it, but he is never a match for our God, and He will never be. This is why I command whatever storm you may be experiencing now to be calm in Jesus‘ Name. As you sail on the sea of life to fulfill your destiny, the devil and his allies are not happy because your success is also going to result in the blessing and deliverance of others. This is because you will use it for God's service, to build up the work of God and to bring souls to the Kingdom of God. Nevertheless, the devil and his agents will fail.
At the onset of the storm, while Jesus was taking time off to relax, the disciples embarked on a rescue operation of the boat. The situation however did not get better. They could not cope. It was then they remembered to wake Jesus up.- 1 Samuel 2:9c says: .
”........for by strength shall no man prevail.” .
You should not make this mistake; your role is to notify Jesus of the storm. In any case, Jesus woke up unperturbed..The Author and Controller of Peace himself rebuked the winds behind the storm, and there was calm. You shall begin to experience calmness in your marriage, in your finances, in your education, in your business and in your health from now on in Jesus‘ Name. Stop running helter-sketer to dubious men all over the place; they will only compound your problems. Look up to Jesus; let Him handle your storm.
Today's action point is to repent of being too quick to seek out man's solution instead of God's at times of difficulty. Praise God, the all-powerful One and tell Him of any storm in your life.
As we seek the face of God instead of man today, I pray that every mountain before us will become plain in Jesus Name, amen.

ReplyDeleteThere was a time in my life when I thought I could depend on and trust in humans, I never knew the reality of the scriptures.. A man receives nothing except it be given from above.. God has thought me through diverse disappointments to trust in Him alone. Things have been better for me ever since. Today, whether I live or die, no matter what happens to me, irrespective of the change that comes my way, I will be sure of two things: all things work together for the good of God's lovers and that I am created to show forth God's praise in anything and at all times... So, today my peace and health flow like a river.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you going through today, pilgrim, the fact that Christ is in your boat does not prevent the storms from arising, what you need is wisdom to call him. Learn to lean on Him today, desist from blaming people, remember, whatever anybody has ever done to or for you shouldn't make you become crossed with them.... They were only fulfilling their part in order for you to become all that Christ ever wanted you to be. So, be wise, trust and call only in and on God. Also, be at peace, forgive everybody that you thought offended you...they were working directly or indirectly with God to fulfill his purpose for your life.
God bless, keep and cause his face to shine upon you sis. Yetunde and all those that have ever made any contributions on this forum.

ReplyDeleteThis devotional is so timely! Just yesterday before I slept, the Holyspirit convicted me of running to others instead of to him when I'm in desperate need. I wanted to apply for a job with one of the top companies in the world. I began to tell myself every reason why I wont qualify. I said things like "I didn't go to a top school, my gpa is not 4.0, i don't live in that city, i don't know any connections" i then called a friend to ask her to tell me of someone she knew that worked in that company and could help me get the job through a referral. She also expressed why she thought it will be difficult for me to get the job. Wow!! Y didn't I go to Jesus, the author of my story? Why didn't I ask him to make a way for me? My first instinct is to run to others and ask for their shallow opinions when clearly, God's ways are not like theirs. I repent from this behavior and I run to you alone Jesus! Please calm my storm. Be encouraged everyone, Oluwa is involved 100%!!!
ReplyDeleteThis message spoke to my current situation. God forgive me for running to men. May He calm the ragging storms in my life. Holy ghost guard me from all evil. Let me seek God and not man!
