RCCG Open Heavens Devotional: Friday 11 January THE RELIABLE LIE DETECTOR by Pastor E. A. Adeboye

THE RELIABLE LIE DETECTOR
By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Memorize: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall be speak: and he will shew you things to come.
                                                                                       John 16: 13

The Holy Spirit who is the third Person of the Trinity is presently in charge of the church today. Every believer who wants to succeed in life, ministry and make it to Heaven must cultivate an intimate relationship with Him. To do this, you need to know what He stands for, Who He is and how He operates. In John 14:26, Jesus calls Him Teacher. He is a teacher per excellence. If you are involved in any of the teaching ministries, then you need to draw very close to the Holy Spirit. With His assistance you will not only be on top but also ahead, but without Him, you will fumble. John 16: 13 says,

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he
will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak
of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that
shall he speak: and he will shew you things to
come.”

If you are to the Holy Spirit, it will be difficult to deceive you. Through the gift of discerning of spirits and other revelational gifts. He will guide you into the truth. Are you easily deceived? You need the Holy Spirit. When Spirit. When somebody is sitting you a lie, if you are a person of the know it is a lie. Today, to establish the truth, a scientific device - lie detector is used. As objective as this may be, once in a while it may give a false result when it comes to people who have shaky temperaments. But the Holy Spirit is unfailing lie detector.

In Acts 5: 1-11, when a couple successfully planned a lie, gave them away and brought judgment on them. If your spouse is having an affair, the Holy Spirit can expose it to you. If people gang up to fabricate lies against you in your office or even in the ministry, the Holy Spirit will tell you if you are close to Him. If you are easily deceived or you easily make wrong decisions, it simply shows that your relationship with the Holy Spirit is far from what it should be. If you stand before a truly anointed man of God, you would be afraid to lie to him because you know that the Holy Spirit can reveal the truth to him. How close are you to the Holy Spirit? Do you know the truth about the lies you have been told? Worship the Holy Spirit pray in the spirit, obey the Spirit and study God's word
