RCCG Open Heavens Devotional Saturday 5 January 2013: HOW EXPOSED TO THE LIGHT? by Pastor E. A. Adeboye

Memorize: This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.                                                                                                 1 John 1: 5

Read: 1 John 1: 5-7

Bible in one year: Proverbs 15 – 18

Action point:
The measure of God’s light in you is determined by the measure of His Word in you. Daily hide God’s word in you to increase His light in you.

Light is generally appreciated by all. Only those who have done or are doing evil are afraid of light Why? They do not want their deeds exposed (John 3:20). The principal role of light is to illuminate, to give vision or the ability to see. Light is what enables the eyes to operate. If your two eyes are okay and wide opened but there is no cannot see. !t is light that makes you see. Even if has one eye or the eyes have some defects, an n the intensity of light will produce better results incapacitated eyes. In other words, the amount you are exposed to will to a large extent affect what how clearly you see it and how correctly you what you see. So is viewing things in the light of 3:ures; if you have not received sufficient light, understanding and interpretation of the subject matter may be far from the truth, in addition, the level of truth you have will be determined by the intensity of light from God’s Word that shines on your inner man.
One painful reality is that spiritual age does not necessarily determine spiritual maturity. The young who is constantly exposed to the glorious light of God’s Word, will in a short while access more truths than the fellow who received Jesus Christ some 10 years ago but has very little exposure to God's light. How exposed are you to God's tight? Similarly, the amount of truth you are capable of accepting will be determined by the volume of God's light that is shinning on you from His if you are a believer in Christ, the Bible calls you a of light. Naturally, children of light will always gravitate towards the light or be attracted by light. If you say you are a child of light, how come you are attracted by darkness? How is it that the Jobs that appeal to you are the 3us type? How is it that the suitor that is appealing to you is someone of another faith? How come the music that glorifies your Father's enemy gives you pleasure? If you are child of lights, how much exposure do you have on daily basis from God's Word? There is need to define your relationship with the Light today!
